"This rock wall at the base of Eagle Falls is located at a narrow section of the Skykomish River valley. Illuminated by indirect sunlight, the colorful wall had a tranquil effect on me that I attempted to capture in this image. Sunlight rarely touches the north-facing rock that hosts several varieties of mosses and lichens. The river, Highway 2 and a railway corridor share approximately 200 feet of space and is popular as a day trip for residents of the Puget Sound region. Rick Ferens, 2006. Negative 231_4
